Well, Brimstone Hill is an old fort ... a tourist attraction. The kid would go there with his monkey and try to get tourists to give him a buck or two in exchange for letting them take a picture. (And I did, I confess.) So I doubt he was really a pet -- more a means of earning a living. I hope he didn't have too bad a life, though ...

In a zoo or a pet? The kids and I were looking at the picture and noticed the chain, and the fence in the background. They were intrigued by his ears!
